WESTHAVEN KITCHEN
Westhaven, CA
This remodel removed only a couple of interior walls, with no structural changes, but dramatically opened up the kitchen to the living room and dining room. New windows allowed for more balanced light that accented the more modern layout.
The front entrance was originally a rough enclosed space with a plywood floor. Opening it up still allowed for a covered area, but created a more expansive view from both the living room and kitchen,
The clients picked a mixture of finishes that freshened up the space, which some visitors to the house have described as “Scandi Chic,” but while still paying homage to the original cabin that are the bones of the home. In addition to the details that the contractors incorporated into the home, the owners did some work themselves, which included tiling the front stoop.
